President, Bonnie Hedrick
Mrs. Hedrick is one of the founding members of Rose Bowl Riders Charitable Organization (RBRCO). She is the coordinator and tour guide for the Art of the Horse Field trip sponsored by RBRCO. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from Cal State University, Los Angeles. She is the Corporate Secretary for First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Pasadena, as well as the Administrator for the Visiting Christian Science Nursing Service for Los Angeles County, Inc. She and her family have owned and loved horses for 20 years. Her oldest son rides and trains horses professionally. Mrs. Hedrick and her husband ride their horses regularly in Hahamongna Watershed Park.
Vice President, Karen Huestis Enzminger
Dr. Enzminger holds a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from USC and works as a Training Supervisor with Tobinworld Mental Health. Throughout her career, she has worked for multiple nonprofit mental health organizations that serve as subcontractors with the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health. Her specialization is supervising graduate students and working with the underserved, high-need children and families throughout the county. Over the years, her volunteer efforts have included: Girl Scouts, Pasadena Humane Society, St. Mark’s School, and the National Charity League. Dr. Enzminger and her family have been members of Rose Bowl Riders for ten years. She has three children, with daughter Amelia now competing in equestrian events at the college level.
Secretary, Heidy Kelman
Ms. Kelman holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering and is a Mechanical Design Engineer for the Giant Magellan Telescope Corporation in Pasadena. For over 30 years she worked for the Jet Propulsion Laboratory and CalTech. Ms. Kelman and her family have been members of Rose Bowl Riders for more than ten years. Their daughter rode competitively at Rose Bowl Riders and on the Rice University equestrian team.
Treasurer, Joan Probst
Ms. Probst was the Director of Optimist Transitional Day Treatment Program (TDTP) from 1988 - 1993 when she became the Director of Foster Family and Adoption Services (OFFAS). She supervised both TDTP and OFFAS in the provision of services including individual, family, group therapy, behavioral intervention, and educational support for up to 40 probation-placed youth and their families, as well as up to 250 children in foster care. In addition, she oversaw the recruitment, training, and selection of both foster and adoptive families through 2008. She earned her Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from the Professional School of Psychological Studies, San Diego; Bachelor of Arts in Human Growth and Development from Immaculate Heart College, Los Angeles, and is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Member of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists. Ms. Probst rides her horse throughout the Arroyo Seco and has been a member of Rose Bowl Riders for many, many years.
Administrator of Funding, Heather Kodama
Mrs. Kodama holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Humanities, a Master of Fine Arts degree, and has worked as a Real Estate Advisor for 16 years. She actively volunteers to promote understanding and growth programs aiding the homeless in Los Angeles. Her background roots in art aided her volunteer work with emotional-learning-disabled students prompting their learning and expression through art. She and her son are members of the Rose Bowl Riders Family and enjoy riding horses together.
Board Member, Don Thornburgh
Mr. Thornburgh and his family have been members of Rose Bowl Riders for more than five years. Don and his two daughters ride weekly at Rose Bowl Riders, and both girls ride for La Cañada High School in the Interscholastic Equestrian League (IEL). Mr. Thornburgh holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics from Pomona College and a law degree from the UCLA School of Law. His legal practice focus is intellectual property.
Board Member, Marianne Wright
Mrs. Wright grew up in San Francisco and attended UCLA, majoring in Geography. There she met her husband Matt of 38 years. She worked in the Urban Planning field for 15 years before “retiring” to be an at-home parent. Her life for the past 25 years has been a rich one, raising her daughter, and being able to spend time in the non-profit realm. She currently is on the board of the UCLA Friends of Geography; Saint Mark’s Episcopal Church, Altadena; HFS Adoption & Foster Care in Los Angeles; and, of course, RBRCO! In addition, she was involved with both The Chandler School and La Salle High School both in Pasadena, where her daughter attended. Mrs. Wright has a love of horses through her daughter Emily, who trained for six years at Rose Bowl Riders with Katherine Ginzton and Myrtle Hill Farms and competed in High School with the Interscholastic Equestrian League (IEL).
